Graduation of AREA’s course is recognized for a free 1 year membership in the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI) obtaining full benefits, and discounted membership in the Housing Inspection Foundation (HIF).
Home Inspector - Initial License
Licensed Home Inspector- All applicants for a South Carolina Home Inspector License must:
Complete either an approved home inspectors training course or have 1 year home inspection experience under the supervision of a licensed home inspector, residential builder, general contractor, engineer, architect or have performed a minimum of 50 home inspections.
Submit examination application which may be found in the back of the candidate information bulletin and appropriate fees. You will receive an examination eligibility letter upon the commission receiving your application. You must take the examination with PSI within one year of receiving your confirmation.
Licenses expire each year on June 30th regardless of when they were issued. There are currently no continuing education requirements for home inspection licensure. You can renew your license online https://renewals.llronline.com/RegLogin.asp.
